Alex Jacques is an award winning sport commentator and broadcaster.
He is Formula 1 lead commentator for F1TV and Channel 4 also providing commentary on Formula 2, Netflix’s Drive to Survive and EA Sport’s F124 game.
Alex began covering sport at BBC Radio Suffolk before moving to The Times newspaper. On weekends, he continued to pursue broadcasting, covering multiple sports for BBC radio stations and agencies.
Ever since watching his first Grand Prix on TV aged nine, Alex's first love has been motorsport and in 2015 he was named commentator for the GP2 and GP3 series.
GP2 and GP3 later became F2 and F3, the final steps on the junior ladder before Formula 1.
In following seasons his commentary expanded into F1 for F1TV's Pit Lane Channel service. In addition, Alex joined BBC Radio 5 live for selected events, including commentary for the British Grand Prix.
In all he has covered: Formula 1, the Indy 500, the 24 hours of Le Mans, Formula 2, Formula 3, W Series, Porsche Supercup and F1 Esports.
2021 saw Alex take up the prestigious role at Channel 4 as ‘free to air’ F1 lead commentator and in 2023 he combined this with providing F1TV’s lead commentary for their popular streaming service.
This year he continues to commentate for F1TV and Channel 4 and celebrates 10 seasons with Formula 2.
